Position Overview:
We are looking for passionate, motivated individuals who are excited to collaborate with teachers and support students in reaching their full potential. Our Instructional Support Assistants play a key role in creating a positive and engaging learning environment by providing both instructional and social-emotional support.
As a team member, you'll work closely with lead teachers to implement learning experiences that foster students' intellectual, social, emotional, and physical growth. You'll also benefit from professional development opportunities integrated into the school schedule, helping you grow and develop within your role.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with lead teachers to create an optimal learning environment.
Assist in delivering lesson plans and reinforcing lessons one-on-one or in small groups.
Help students stay on track with their work and maintain scholarly behavior.
Support lead teachers with record-keeping and communication with families.
Lead small groups or individual instruction with evidence-based interventions tailored to students' needs.
Maintain intervention records and monitor progress to ensure effective support.
Support students in staying focused and engaged throughout lessons.
Work with special educators to implement accommodations and supports for individual students.
Participate in team and parent meetings to provide input into student success plans.
Assist with universal screening and tracking of students in interventions.
Supervise student groups and assist with transitions during the school day.
Maintain the classroom environment and assist with lesson preparation and wrap-up.
Support with administrative tasks such as arrival, dismissal, lunch, and recess supervision.
Step in for the classroom teacher when needed for meetings or professional development.
Perform other duties as assigned to help maintain a safe and productive learning environment.
Qualifications:
Required:
At least 2 years of college education.
Experience working with children in an educational setting.
Ability to collaborate effectively as part of a professional team.
Strong communication skills and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
Flexibility and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Preferred:
Bachelor's degree.
Degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, ESL, or Special Education.
Bilingual skills (Spanish, Haitian Creole, Cape Verdean Creole) are a plus.
