Job Description
DESCRIPTION
Elastic Load Balancing (ELB) enables customers to build large scale highly available services. ELB automatically distributes incoming application traffic across multiple targets, such as Amazon EC2 instances, containers, IP addresses, and Lambda functions. ELB provides the entry point for building hyper scale, fault tolerant applications. While ELB has seen tremendous growth since launch we are still in the early stages of realizing its full potential.
As Manager of Software Development for ELB High Performance Data Plane , you will be responsible for leading a group of top talent in the design and development of a new high performance data plane and control plane to enable micro seconds latency for hundreds of billions packets per second. In this role, you will drive the design and implementation of new technologies to enable ELB scaling at massive scale. You will define, plan and execute on deliverables that drive game changing improvements for ELB data plane platform.
Success in this role requires a leader experienced in establishing and building relationships with a wide range of peers, including senior AWS executives, customers at all levels of experience and responsibility, deeply technical software engineers within the team. This leader must have the proven skills to easily switch between weighing in on complex engineering details, taking a long term view of the business, growing and developing the next generation of AWS leadership, and overall operating as a large-scale organization leader. It requires an ability to prioritize work for the direct team and partner teams, establish goals, and focus attention on the most important inputs to drive the desired business outcomes. This leader must be capable of scaling themselves and their team to meet the ever-increasing demands of a fast-growing business. You’ll need to excel at hiring and developing your technical talent. ELB operates at large scale and enable customers to build high availability systems world-wide, so a passion and discipline around operational excellence is key. Come work hard and make history with ELB
