What You'll Do:
Collaborate with the Global Data Manager to lead a data quality program, ensuring high-quality data for various investment and market data elements, including asset classifications and quality ratings for fixed income and equity securities.
Manage daily data requests and support application teams in analyzing and resolving data issues, while identifying opportunities for improvement in portfolio compliance, credit/quality ratings, and trading.
Help create a Data Quality framework by establishing data stewardship and operational processes for managing critical data assets.
Recommend and implement new processes that increase data enrichment and improve matching accuracy by understanding data models and business rules in our vendor platforms.
Work with development teams on process automation to validate data integrity across platforms.
Design and implement Data Quality validation processes and dashboard monitoring to track critical data assets, and establish ongoing communication with stakeholders to review and improve data quality.
Analyze, cleanse, and enrich master data elements to ensure efficient and consistent data flow between users and stakeholders.
Collaborate with teams in Risk Management, Portfolio Management, Performance Management, Investment Operations, and external auditors to resolve production-related issues.
Liaise with front office departments to identify data requirements, ensuring that the correct data sources are used to meet business needs.
Maintain and promote data governance practices across the organization to ensure data integrity.
Assist in developing data policies, mentoring IT teams to integrate and maintain data rules, validations, and standards across IT applications.
Work with development teams to design master and reference data architecture and ensure consistency across systems.
Provide analysis of complex data issues, lead discussions with stakeholders to find solutions, and facilitate group decision-making.
Develop and execute data test plans, ensuring data accuracy and completeness.
Manage project resources, develop project plans, and track project progress to ensure successful execution.
Skills & Knowledge:
Proven experience in building and managing Data Management programs and processes, including data quality tools, profiling, data architecture, and metrics.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and address complex data issues.
Ability to define formal business requirements and develop complex process diagrams.
Expertise in writing SQL queries and procedures to analyze data and create test scripts.
Advanced Excel skills for performing complex data analysis (e.g., using macros and formulas).
Excellent communication, organizational, and documentation skills.
Experience in developing test plans and automating data testing processes.
Knowledge of master and reference data models, and their integration with applications.
Skilled in collaborating with cross-functional teams in a matrix organization.
Experience with project management tools such as Jira.
Familiarity with Tableau or Power BI (preferred).
Education & Experience:
4-6 years of experience in data management and operations.
A degree in Computer Science, Data Management, or a related field.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Extensive hands-on experience with SQL.
Knowledge of database architecture and design.
Experience with data governance tools, data profiling, and ETL processes is a plus.
Experience in financial services, investment banking, or similar industries is preferred.
