Job Description
Our client, a leading consulting firm specializing in forensic technology, is seeking an Senior Consultant of eDiscovery & Forensics to support complex regulatory and compliance matters, investigations, and disputes. This role involves managing the full eDiscovery lifecycle, from data collection and processing to analysis and production, while working closely with clients and cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will have expertise in eDiscovery, digital forensics, and industry-standard tools such as Relativity, along with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Experience with forensic data collection, processing, and analytics tools is highly desirable. This hybrid position requires three days in the office per week in either the Washington, D.C., Dallas, or New York offices.
Responsibilities- Carry out and provide assistance with all stages of the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM), with a focus on early case assessment, document review, data analysis, and production for client matters
- Work closely with both internal teams and external stakeholders to facilitate document reviews, analyze unstructured datasets, ensure timely execution of deliverables, and compile reports, insights, and presentations for clients
- Assist in the acquisition, handling, and processing of substantial volumes of digital evidence, including electronic records, communications, and documents from various information systems
- Participate in core eDiscovery processes, such as remote data collections, evidence handling, data processing, review support, and document productions
- Apply creative problem-solving methods to tackle unexpected obstacles, leveraging both standard industry tools and custom-built solutions to meet client demands
- Aid workstream leaders in developing and managing project plans, resource allocation, budgets, invoices, and staffing strategies while coordinating communications with key stakeholders
- Contribute to advancements in forensic technology services, including process improvements, integration of emerging technologies, and thought leadership initiatives
- Investigate and evaluate market trends, technological shifts, and legislative changes that could impact forensic technology service offerings and client needs
- Identify opportunities for enhancing operational efficiencies and propose innovative solutions to improve forensic technology workflows
- Mentor and guide junior team members while managing specific work activities or project components
- Expand technical expertise through hands-on experience, professional development programs, industry networking, and relevant certifications
Required Qualifications- Academic foundation in a STEM field (such as Computer Science, Engineering, or Statistics), Accounting, Law, or a similar area, or equivalent professional experience
- Some years of hands-on experience in eDiscovery, digital forensics, or related fields, with proficiency in industry-standard platforms like Relativity (One)
- Practical knowledge of managing the full eDiscovery process, including data collection, processing, document review, and final production
- Self-motivated with the ability to independently acquire new technical skills, tools, and methodologies to support projects and strategic initiatives
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical reasoning and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to diverse audiences
- Capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously while effectively prioritizing tasks to ensure smooth execution
Preferred Qualifications- Holding or actively working toward a recognized certification in digital forensics or eDiscovery
- Advanced expertise with document review platforms like Relativity or equivalent tools
- Experience utilizing forensic data acquisition and analysis software such as FTK, Encase, Axiom, Cellebrite, NUIX, Brainspace, or similar platforms
- Background in data acquisition, evidence handling, and chain of custody procedures, with knowledge of collecting data from cloud-based services like O365 or Gmail
- Familiarity with analytics methodologies, programming languages, and database tools such as Python and SQL
- Understanding of one or more of the following areas: digital forensics, data visualization, AI/machine learning, compliance standards, information governance, and global privacy regulations
Expected salary for this role is $100,000 - $125,000, commensurate with experience, training, skills, qualifications, and other market factors.
