Job Description

As our Senior Art Director, you will be responsible for ideating and creating world class creative deliverables for our brand, while developing the careers of our in-house Creative team members. Reporting into the Founder & CEO, a successful candidate is a talented hands on Designer and Art Director  with a history of developing strong brand affinity through visual creative, and has a professional aspiration to grow into a senior Creative leadership role over time. This position will partner closely with our cross-functional leaders in Brand Marketing, E-Commerce, and Product to tell Maiden Home’s story through growth.

This is a fully in person position, located at our New York headquarters in the Tribeca Design District.

 

Responsibilities

  1. Serve as the brand’s Art Director and Designer; creating high quality creative assets to support excellent and high-performing creative across all functions of the organization. 
  2. Act as the translator of high level creative direction from the Founder & CEO into an effective framework for the Creative team to execute upon
  3. Collaborate with Creative,Brand Marketing, and Site teams to ideate and create impactful campaigns, print and digital content, and creative assets that reflect Maiden Home’s brand strategy, positioning, and business goals. 
  4. Create campaign and photoshoot concepts that go beyond the obvious – they sell Maiden Home creatively, trying to activate a client emotionally, rather than just logically.
  5. Leads the creation of strong visual design for relevant campaign and photoshoot work across all integrated marketing channels, including Site (landing pages), Growth (emails, brand advertising), Retail, and more.
  6. Foster and manage our team of talented designers, copywriters and freelancers to deliver high-performing, consistent, and unified creative output across creative applications 
  7. Partner closely with the Brand Operations Project Manager to ensure Maiden Home’s end to end creative process is running smoothly and efficiently; strategically identify and implement any continuous process improvements
  8. Regularly resource and staff the Creative team with brand-aligned freelance talent that match Maiden Home’s evolving business needs; act as a magnet for Creative talent by effectively resourcing critical projects with freelance talent that will deliver strong outcomes

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience consisting of the following: (1) Multiple years as an IC Designer, (2) Multiple years executing high quality photoshoots as an Art Director side by side with photographers other visual Designers and (3) Multiple years building landing pages, ads, and other assets in-house at a Design oriented company.
  • Brilliant portfolio of Design and Art Direction in a luxury goods, fashion, and/or direct-to-consumer advertising context. This is your craft and you take it seriously – always looking for ways to practice, improve, and learn.  
  • Desire for upward growth into a Creative Director role over time.
  • Experience working closely with a Founder & CEO and translating their company vision and strategy into a clear creative vision and set of creative outputs.
  • Experienced creative generalist with a sophisticated understanding of web and graphic design, fluency with copy, photographer, and video.
  • You thrive in situations with ambiguity and complexity and like to iterate to achieve the best outcomes.
  • You are career-oriented and like to manage teams.
  • Substantial experience supporting the creative needs of Brand Marketing, Growth Marketing, and E-Commerce. 
  • Leadership traits of being flexible, enterprising and collaborative and is highly tolerant of ambiguity, complexity and occasional lack of existing processes or structure in an early stage start-up environment

Anticipated Salary Range: $160,000 - $220,000
