Job Description

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Middle School Language Arts Teacher to join our hybrid program! This role requires a dynamic educator who can deliver high-quality instruction both in-person and through virtual platforms, ensuring an engaging and Christ-centered learning experience for students. In this hybrid teaching model, students attend in-person classes two days a week, and participate in at-home learning for three days. The teacher will work collaboratively with parents, who act as co-teachers during the at-home learning days, to support students' academic growth and development.

Key Responsibilities:
Instructional Delivery:

Plan and teach engaging lessons designed for both in-person and home-based learning.
Deliver in-person lessons on campus two days a week, aligning with curriculum goals and standards.
Develop clear and detailed assignments and instructional resources for at-home learning days, helping students complete tasks independently or with parental support.
Provide virtual resources and regular check-ins on remote learning days to ensure students' progress.

Parental Collaboration:

Maintain regular communication with parents to provide guidance, feedback, and support for at-home learning.
Offer strategies to help parents create an effective home learning environment and assist with troubleshooting as needed.
Conduct virtual or in-person conferences with parents to discuss student progress, challenges, and successes.

Curriculum Development:

Develop lesson plans that are flexible and appropriate for both in-person and home learning environments.
Ensure the hybrid model creates a seamless learning experience by integrating technology where appropriate.
Collaborate with fellow educators to ensure consistency and alignment of the curriculum.

Assessment and Feedback:

Assess student work during at-home learning days, providing timely and constructive feedback.
Track progress both in-person and remotely, adjusting teaching methods and resources as necessary to support each student's learning style.
Use a variety of assessment tools to monitor understanding and refine instructional practices.

Classroom and Online Management:

Foster a positive, Christ-centered learning environment both in-person and remotely.
Clearly communicate expectations for behavior, assignments, and deadlines to students.
Utilize learning management systems (e.g., Google Classroom) to manage the classroom and communicate with students and parents effectively.

Professional Development and Team Collaboration:

Participate in team meetings, professional development opportunities, and planning sessions to continuously enhance teaching methods.
Collaborate with other teachers and staff to share ideas, resources, and strategies for effective hybrid learning.

Educational and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in education (minimum).
ACSI certification required.
At least 2-3 years of teaching experience, preferably in a hybrid, online, or blended learning environment.
Experience in Christian education is highly preferred.
Familiarity with hybrid or remote learning technologies and platforms.

Technical Skills:
Proficiency in Google Docs and Google Sheets, with the ability to create documents and simple calculations.
Familiarity with learning management platforms such as Google Classroom, Renweb, or similar.

Additional Skills:
Strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information.
High level of motivation, accountability, and flexibility.
Ability to thrive in a multi-tasking, dynamic environment.

Schedule:
This is a part-time position, requiring 29 hours a week, including two days of in-person teaching and three days of at-home support and instruction.
Employment Type: Part-Time
Salary: $ 40,000.00 50,000.00 Per Year
