Job Summary: We are seeking a seasoned TSO/Mainframe Developer Lead with strong hands-on experience in z/OS, STAR, SYS2 LPARs, and related mainframe technologies.

The ideal candidate should have excellent communication skills, prior experience working in SAFe Agile environments, and the ability to coordinate and lead onshore/offshore teams.

This role requires a proactive individual who can own delivery, drive design and development activities, and engage effectively with business and technical stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design, development, enhancement, and maintenance of mainframe-based systems running on z/OS.
• Work extensively on TSO, ISPF, JCL, and mainframe utilities within STAR and SYS2 LPARs environments.
• Coordinate with product owners, architects, QA, and business teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Own and manage all deliverables from design through deployment, ensuring alignment with SAFe Agile principles.
• Act as the primary point of contact for technical escalations and issue resolution.
• Guide and mentor offshore development teams; ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including PI Planning, Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, Reviews, and Retrospectives.
• Ensure high quality and performance of delivered code through code reviews and performance tuning.
• Document and maintain system designs, configuration, and other technical deliverables.

Required Technical Skills:

• Mainframe Technologies: o TSO/ISPF o JCL o z/OS o REXX o VSAM o COBOL (preferred) o File-Aid, Abend-AID
• Systems & LPAR Expertise: o Hands-on experience with STAR and SYS2 LPARs o Deep understanding of LPAR configurations, batch processing, and security protocols on z/OS
• Database Skills: o Strong knowledge and experience with DB2 for z/OS o SQL query optimization and performance tuning o Understanding of data modeling and relational database design o Familiarity with IMS DB (preferred)

Agile & Leadership Skills:

• Minimum 2 years of experience working in SAFe Agile or scaled Agile environments
• Experience in participating in PI Planning, defining Epics/Features, and collaborating with Agile Release Trains (ARTs)
• Excellent team leadership and mentoring skills
• Prior experience in handling hybrid onshore-offshore teams
• Strong problem-solving, analytical thinking, and decision-making skills

Soft Skills:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; must be able to interact with senior business and technical stakeholders.
• Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively across teams and geographies.
• High accountability and ownership mindset; ability to drive initiatives independently.
