Description
The Lead Installer is responsible for leading a team in the installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of residential and commercial solar PV systems, of both roof and ground-mounted systems. This person will follow all company and safety policies and procedures.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Install rooftop and ground-mount solar PV systems including: flashing, racking, module level power electronics (Micro inverters/ Optimizers), array wiring, and junction boxes
- Work on roofs, ladders, crawlspaces, attics and other residential and commercial areas
- Manage, lead, train, and motivate a crew of 3-6 installers
- Maintain appropriate stock on truck to complete install and double check material for the job is loaded prior to leaving the shop
- Accurately pull material based off of the construction plans
- Ability to test, commission, and troubleshoot system components
- Ability to read schematics and follow technical installation instructions
- Maintain weekly installation goals for the crew
- Accurately upload required information to our work platform/CRM/ and other applications
- Work in a fast-paced and demanding work environment
- Maintain a clean job site, work truck, and warehouse Competently install safety equipment and enforce safety policies
- Complete quarterly safety gear and tool audit on company vehicles
- Complete weekly vehicle inspection reports on company vehicle
- Report directly to the Crew Foreman with any job related issues or employee issue
- Interact with clients in a respectful manner
- Perform other related duties as required
- Follow all company and safety policies and procedures
- Obtain OSHA 10 safety training (course provided by employer)
- Obtain 18 Hour Solar PV Boot Camp through HeatSpring (course provided by employer)
- Overnight travel may be required
Requirements
- Extensive knowledge of PV equipment and installation
- Be comfortable climbing a ladder and working on a roof
- Be comfortable with working outside in all weather conditions
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- High attention to detail
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Team orientated with proven leadership skills
- Good attitude with a willingness to learn
- Ability to maintain professional attitude
- Ability to maintain company tools
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum 2 yrs experience as a residential solar installer
- Minimum 1 yr as lead installer
- Proficient with hand and power tools
- Ability to read blueprints and schematics
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repetitively
- Ability to climb ladders and work on roofs up to a 45 degree pitch
- Drivers license and clean driving record required
Required Tools and Equipment
- Personal hand tools required including screwdriver set or multi-tool (11 in 1) driver, wire strippers, diagonal wire cutters, impact rated socket set, socket adapter, tool belt, bag or backpack
- Weather appropriate attire with at least one piece of Purelight Power Company apparel worn at all times when on the clock
- Weather and job appropriate footwear
Supplied Tools and Equipment
- Safety harness and rope w/ rope grab and shock absorber
- Fall protection anchors and devices
- Power tools including impact, drill, and circular / reciprocating saw
- IPad
Compensation
Starting at $28-$36/hr DOE
