Job Title: Lab Technician I
Pay Rate: $24/hr.
Shift: 2nd and 3rd
Benefits: Medical, Dental, AD&D
Requirements:
Basic Function:
Responsible for analyzing products for salt and Aflatoxin.
Responsibilities:
1. Analyze samples for salt, moisture and water activity.
2. Analyze samples for Aflatoxin.
3. Enter results into the Aflatoxin Database and NAV database
4. Maintain accurate records of all testing and laboratory equipment.
5. Aid in the preparation of outgoing samples to external laboratories
6. Notify the Technician II, Lab Supervisor, and Lab Manager of problems with equipment.
7. Notify the Technician II, Lab Supervisor, or Lab Manager of problems with analysis or samples.
8. Follow all written policies and procedures and provide customer support. 9. Provide audit support and participate in internal audits
10. Aid with troubleshooting of equipment
11. Additional responsibilities may be added.

Mental and Physical Demands:
Able to perform complex math problems. Generate reports. Standing, sitting and walking 8-12 hour days. Lifting and carrying 25-50 lb. boxes. Must be capable of following complex procedures.
Communication Demands:
Must effectively communicate verbally and in writing with co-workers and supervisor / manager, customers, and outside parties.
Experience, Education, Knowledge, and Skill Requirements:
1. Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma. Computer experience is required. Math and report writing abilities.
2. Preferred Qualifications: BS in biology or chemistry or related science. Laboratory experience.
