About the Role
As an International Crisis Manager, you will be a key member of the Corporate Security Resilience Group, responsible for planning, managing, and executing crisis management strategies. This role will directly oversee the preparation and coordination for crisis situations that impact OpenAI's international workforce. You will be a proactive leader in crisis management planning, training, and response, ensuring that OpenAI employees are well-supported and protected at all times.
This role will require up to 50% travel for support of global CorpSec responsibilities.
This role is based in Washington DC or New York, New York. We use a hybrid work model of 3 days in the office per week and offer relocation assistance to new employees.
In this role, you will:
Develop and lead the global crisis management program for international operations.
Ensure the preparation and readiness of crisis response strategies for various high-risk scenarios.
Collaborate with the Global Security Operations Command (GSOC) to ensure seamless integration of crisis management tools and technologies.
Lead global crisis simulations and training for all employees and relevant stakeholders.
Coordinate the emergency response efforts for international incidents, ensuring rapid deployment of resources to mitigate risks.
Maintain close relationships with local security teams, legal departments, and external partners to ensure aligned crisis management efforts across regions.
Ensure that crisis management protocols are continually updated to reflect changing global risks and operational needs.
Act as a key advisor during actual crisis events, making strategic decisions for the safety and well-being of OpenAI employees.
Support external event security functions nearly 50% of the time during your first few years.

Have experience in managing international crisis situations, particularly in high-risk environments.
Are skilled at building cross-functional relationships to support crisis management preparedness.
Have strong expertise in integrating crisis management systems with GSOC and other security tools.
Excel at crisis planning and response under pressure, with the ability to make quick, informed decisions.
Have experience managing global security teams and coordinating international crisis responses.
Possess experience in training and managing security for external events.

The base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
