Are you an experienced Construction Project Manager/Estimator ready to take on exciting projects in the Greater Hartford and Western Massachusetts areas? This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of construction projects, build strong client relationships, and contribute to the success of each project. While based in Chicopee, MA, this position offers flexibility for candidates within commuting distance, with occasional visits to the main office.
Job Summary:
In this role, you will oversee multiple construction projects from start to finish, ensuring they are completed efficiently, within budget, and on schedule. You'll be responsible for estimating costs, managing budgets, coordinating teams, and providing technical support. Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills are essential to succeed in this position.
Key Responsibilities:
Work closely with clients to understand project needs and allocate the necessary resources.
Prepare accurate project estimates based on specifications, drawings, and other relevant information.
Monitor construction progress, ensuring alignment with design, budget, and timelines.
Collaborate with crew leaders to ensure projects run smoothly and efficiently.
Provide technical guidance, including interpreting drawings, troubleshooting issues, and recommending construction methods.
Act as the main point of contact for clients, fostering strong, long-term relationships.
Identify and pursue new project opportunities with existing clients.
Oversee the financial aspects of projects, including budget tracking and profit/loss responsibility.
Manage procurement of materials, equipment rentals, and subcontractor selections.
Ensure clear expectations and goals are set for team members to meet project objectives.
Handle project documentation, such as contracts, purchase orders, change orders, and status reports.
Ensure completed work adheres to industry codes, designs, and specifications.
Qualifications:
Strong knowledge of mechanical construction, piping, plumbing, and refrigeration is preferred.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
Experience with project management software (e.g., MS Project) and Microsoft Office applications.
A background in mechanical engineering or construction management is a plus.
3-5 years of experience in Industrial Mechanical or Construction Management, or hands-on field experience.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to work at a desk for extended periods.
Must be able to lift 15 pounds as needed.
