Po sition: Assistant Director - Physical Medicine
Position Summary : The physical medicine assistant director functions under the general supervision of the director of physical
medicine. The assistant director is responsible for the daily operation of the Physical Medicine Departments assigned to them,
organization of educational activities/inservices and for participating with the director and department leaders in the ongoing
assessment and improvement of these services. In addition to the management responsibilities, the supervisor may assume
responsibility and accountability for a designated group of patients and provide therapy evaluations, modalities and treatments in
accordance with established hospital and departmental policies and procedures, maintaining the highest degree of quality patient care.
The assistant director also may assume responsibility and accountability for the care of these patients being treated by therapist
assistants. The assistant director may also assume the duties and responsibilities of the director in their absence.
